New York City is going to be brighter than usual after the Rockefeller Center’s iconic Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was held Wednesday.

50,000 multi-colored lights wrap the tree that that is topped with a Swarovski star crown featuring 3 million crystals.

The 74-foot-tall tree was cut down last month in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It was then trucked to the Rockefeller Plaza.

The tree can be viewed now through mid-January. On Christmas day, it will be lit for 24-hours.

When the holiday season comes to an end, the tree will be donated to be used for lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
