Manhunt Underway For Suspect Of Fatal UHC CEO Shooting

Three live 9 mm rounds and three discharged 9 mm shell casings were recovered from the scene, including three that had the words deny, defend and depose on them.

A man-hunt is still underway for the gunman who shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Wednesday.

The 50-year-old was shot several times shortly before 7am outside the Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York City.

Thompson was not a guest at the Hilton but was staying in a separate hotel near-by. He was walking to the Hilton for a corporate event when the shooting took place.

The suspect was reportedly waiting around for hours for Thompson to arrive.

Security footage revealed that he is a light-skinned man. He was wearing a grey colored backpack, which the NYPD chief of detectives described as “very distinctive.”

Three live 9 mm rounds and three discharged 9 mm shell casings were recovered from the scene, including three that had the words deny, defend and depose on them.

Authorities also discovered a phone and bottle of water that may have been dropped by the shooter in the alleyway where he escaped.

Further details are limited as investigators work to identify the man and a motive.
