Trump’s DEA Nominee Withdraws From Consideration

Chronister said the gravity of the important responsibility set in over the past few days and he is deciding to respectively turn down the opportunity.

Trump’s pick for the Drug Enforcement Administration is withdrawing from consideration.

Just three days ago, Trump nominated Florida’s Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister.

Chronister took to social media Tuesday to explain. He said instead he will continue tending to his current duties. He oversees an area of the Sunshine State including Tampa Bay.

Chronister added the gravity of the important responsibility set in over the past few days and he is deciding to respectively turn down the opportunity.

The sheriff said there is more work to be done for the people of the area he currently oversees and he is committed to fulfilling his duties.

Trump has not announced a nominee to replace him at this time.
