GM Places Recall On Over 132,000 Vehicles

Owners are advised to check that their tailgate is closed and latched before driving.

General Motors issued a recall on over 132,000 vehicles.

The recall covers the Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500 and HD 3500 as well as GMC Sierra HD 2500 and HD 3500 all manufactured this year.

The recall is due to the tailgate’s electronic gate-release switch potentially short-circuiting. That could occur due to water intrusion. In result, the tailgate could unlatch while the vehicle is in park.

Owners are advised to check that their tailgate is closed and latched before driving.

Dealers will be replacing the exterior touch-pad switch assemblies.
