Biden Faces Backlash After Pardoning His Son

Capitol Hill Democrats have criticized the move as counterproductive to their party's efforts toward rebuilding public trust in American institutions.

President Biden has received extreme criticism after his decision to pardon his son Hunter.

The president’s action has been slammed by not only Republicans, but Democrats as well.

Capitol Hill Dems have criticized the move as counterproductive to their party’s efforts toward rebuilding public trust in American institutions.

Some Democrats have extended a measure of sympathy with statements including “the pardon was the action of a loving father” and “if it was my son, I’d probably do the same.”

However, with each sympathetic comment, critiques followed with “but as the action of our nation’s chief executive, it was unwise.” And “but he made a promise that he did not keep.”

President Biden argued the charges brought against Hunter were motivated by politics. Meanwhile, his legal team argued Hunter was only put in this position due to his last name.
