President Biden Pardons Son After Vowing Not To

“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than hunter was singled out only because he is my son,” President Biden said.

President Biden pardoned his son, Hunter, sparing him a possible prison sentence.

The pardon comes just weeks before Hunter was set to be sentenced after his trial conviction in the gun case and guilty plea on tax charges. It also comes months before Donald Trump is set to return to the White House.

President Biden previously promised he would not pardon his son or commute his sentence. However,  he said he “believes in the justice system, but he also believes raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice in his son’s case.”

“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than hunter was singled out only because he is my son,” President Biden said.

Biden’s pardon covers not just the gun and tax offenses. It also covers any offenses committed or may have committed from January 2014 to December 2024.
