Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting Of A 7-Year-Old Child
The child was treated on the scene before being airlifted to a hospital where she later died.
One suspect was arrested following a shooting that resulted in the death of a 7-year-old girl.
Just before 2pm Sunday, police were called to Graham Street in the Maxton area of Robeson County.
Upon arrival, the child was treated on the scene before being airlifted to a hospital where she later died.
An investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old Dedric Page. He allegedly fired shots into a car at a woman when the child was struck. Authorities do not believe the child was the intended target.
Page fled the scene but was later arrested by officers after rapid gunfire was heard on West Graham Street and Wilmington Street.
Page is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm into city limits and possession of a firearm by a felon.
