Ceasefire Negotiations To Resume Regarding Israel/Hamas War
"With sinwar gone, this could be a real opportunity to bring the hostages home and accomplish the objective," said U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Ceasefire negotiations regarding the Israel/Hamas war could soon resume.
A spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said an Israeli delegation will travel to Qatar on Sunday. It is unclear at this time whether Hamas has agreed to participate in the talks.
The U.S. believes the recent death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar could further lead to an agreement being reached, despite Hamas accusing Israel of being the primary block to any deal.
“With sinwar gone, this could be a real opportunity to bring the hostages home and accomplish the objective,” said U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Previous cease-fire talks surrounded a three phase proposal that would stop the fighting, bring home hostages, as well as rebuild Gaza. However, both Israel and Hamas continue to go back and forth requesting demands.
