Former CCU Quarterback Grayson McCall Plans To Retire

Former Coastal Carolina University quarterback Grayson McCall made an announcement.

The three-time Sun Belt Conference player of the year said he plans to retire.

The 23-year-old cited the decision amid health concerns after several head injuries.

McCall transferred to North Carolina State last year and on October 5 of this year, he was carted off the field after taking a blow to the head while playing against wake forest.

That hit was not his first head injury, so he’s deciding to step away from the game.

During his time at CCU, McCall completed 70% of his passes for over 10,000 yards with 88 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He once took the team to a perfect 11-0 Regular season in 2020.
