Boeing Union Members Reject Latest Offer

The current six-week strike will continue, resulting in further halting of production of the aerospace giant's best-selling jetliners.

Boeing union members voted to reject the company’s latest contract offer.

64% of the IAM members who cast ballots, voted against the proposal.

The offer included pay raises of 35% over four years and more. However, the union initially demanded a 40% pay boost over three years.

One of the leaders of the IAM union said they still have ground to make up and they’re hopeful to do so by resuming negotiations promptly. He added, “this is workplace democracy and also clear evidence that there are consequences when a company mistreats its workers year after year.”

Boeing officials have not yet commented on the union’s decision.
