Myrtle Beach Approves Housing Project For Market Common Area

Despite the concerns expressed by many residents, the MarketWalk was approved on a 5-2 vote.

The Myrtle Beach City Council has approved a new housing project in The Market Common area.

The final reading for the ‘MarketWalk’ ordinance was approved during a meeting held Tuesday.

The plan includes the addition of 90 townhomes, 102 cottage-style homes, a swimming pool, clubhouse, lake pavilion as well as a park and playground.

It also includes a drive-thru coffee shop on the corner of Phillis Boulevard and Howard Avenue. 424 residential parking spaces and 15 commercial parking spaces will also come with the plan.
