The U.S. Investigates After Classified Documents Leaked
The investigation is looking into how they were obtained and whether any other intelligence information was compromised.
The United States is investigating after classified documents that assess Israel’s plans to attack Iran were leaked.
The documents are attributed to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency. They note that Israel was still moving military assets in place to conduct a military strike in response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on October 1.
The documents were shared within the “five eyes,” which includes the U.S., Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. However, the top secret documents were posted to the telegram messaging app.
The investigation is looking into how they were obtained and whether any other intelligence information was compromised. Investigators are also revealing who had access to the documents before they were posted.
Officials can speak on the actions but they are not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
