Arrest Made After Weeks-Long Manhunt For Murder Suspect

The suspect is accused of exiting a vehicle and firing several rounds into a parked car occupied by six people.

A recent arrest ended a weeks-long manhunt in connection to a murder.

Tuesday, 21-year-old Kalebsolik Singletary was detained after a call reported a suspicious person witnessed near the Lake City Police Department.

Upon arrival, Singletary lied about his name and date of birth, but a fingerprint reader identified him as the wanted suspect.

The suspect was arrested for the shooting death of 14-year-old Jakari Doctor.

On September 18, Singletary exited a vehicle and fired several rounds into a parked car occupied by six people. Doctor died and another victim was injured.

The incident occurred at the Liberty Street Apartments in Florence.

Singletary is now behind bars along with 19-year-old Yabriah Lewis who is accused of driving the suspect vehicle.

Both are being held without bond and face multiple charges.
