South Carolina Voter Registration Deadline Extended

The deadline is now set for October 14.

The voter registration deadline was extended for South Carolinians.

The S.C. Democratic party filed a lawsuit last week seeking to extend the registration deadline due to “damage and chaos” caused by Hurricane Helene.

After review, it was determined that the move will not impact early voting.

The deadline is now set for October 14.

The extension comes as many people are still working to recover from Helene’s destruction which left at least 41-people dead in S.C..

Many people still lack power or internet access and several government offices are closed.
