NYC Mayor Adams Files Motion To Dismiss Charge In Indictment

Adams is accused of accepting travel benefits and illegal campaign contributions from a Turkish official and other foreign nationals in exchange for political favors.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams filed a motion to dismiss one of the five federal charges against him.

In a 57-page indictment, Adams was charged last week with bribery, conspiracy and campaign finance violations. His attorney has now requested for the court to dismiss the charge alleging bribery.

Adams is accused of accepting travel benefits and illegal campaign contributions from a Turkish official and other foreign nationals in exchange for political favors.

The mayor’s attorney argued, “courtesies to politicians are not federal crimes.” He went on to criticize the other charges as well.

Adams has pleaded not guilty to all the charges he faces.
