Over 100 Storm Related Deaths Occurred During Hurricane Helene

North Carolina suffered the highest death toll with at least 42 on record so far.

At least 102 people have died across six states since Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane.

The storm tore through the southeast leaving millions without power and communications.

North Carolina suffered the highest death toll with at least 42 on record so far.

At least 25 deaths were reported in South Carolina, 17 in Georgia, 11 in Florida, four in Tennessee and two in Virginia.

The death toll is expected to rise as many residents are trapped and cut off from contacting their loved ones due to downed power lines as well as washed out roads, flooding and overall devastation.

The impact from Helene is still being evaluated at this time but in many places it is catastrophic.
