U.S. And Allies Push For Ceasefire Amid Rising Tensions In The Middle East

The calls for peace come after Israel's military said it was preparing for a possible ground incursion into Lebanon.

A diplomatic push is underway to prevent a regional war from erupting in the Middle East.

The United States and its allies are calling for a 21-day ceasefire across the Israel-Lebanon border as the United Nations chief urged all sides to “step back from the brink.”

The calls for peace come after Israel’s military said it was preparing for a possible ground incursion into Lebanon. It also said it was calling on two reserve brigades for missions in the north.

As tensions continue to rise, Israel and Hezbollah are retaliating tit for tat with strikes, forcing thousands to flee their homes.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not responded to the cease fire proposal.
