The new worth would make a gold bar or brick weighing 400 Troy ounces, worth over $1.06 million. That amount is the highest record to date.

Recent gains for the precious metal are largely credited to ongoing economic uncertainty. It’s also due to strong demand from central banks around the world and several other factors.

The new price is up around $145 from a month ago and over $740 from this time last year.
