A motorcyclist is dead after a crash involving a deer.

Around 1:30am Monday, the motorcyclist was heading east on Old Bucksville Road near Keysville Circle in Horry County.

The driver struck a deer in the road causing them to veer off the right side of the road before striking a ditch.

They were taken to a hospital where they later died but their identity has not been publicly released.

The collision is now under investigation.
