Melissa Jefferson Honored During Halftime Of CCU Football Game

Melissa Jefferson took home a bronze medal in the 100-meter individual event.

Olympic medalist Melissa Jefferson was honored at the Coastal Carolina University football game on Saturday.

Jefferson won the gold medal at this year’s Olympics in the 4×100-meter relay. She also took home a bronze medal in the 100-meter individual event.

Jefferson is an alumni of CCU and believes her time in Conway played a significant role in her success.

The athlete was celebrated during half-time in the match against the Virginia Cavaliers.

The Georgetown native said to be able to visit the school and be reminded of what it has done for her is always special.
