Conway City Council Approves Final Reading Of Hate Crime Ordinance
The approved ordinance puts Conway in line with several other cities that have passed similar laws.
The City of Conway unanimously approved to pass the final reading of its hate crime ordinance.
The ordinance is listed as “establishing restrictions and penalties related to hate intimidation and hate crimes.”
A person who violates ‘Title 9’ with intent to intimidate or harm others due to their perceived race, color, religion, gender identity, physical disability, or any description they use to identify themselves, will face consequences.
A person could be fined $500 or face 30 days in jail if convicted.
