The identity of the suspect charged after an hours-long standoff in Horry County has been released.

60-year-old Neil Brown was arrested around 11pm on Thursday following a standoff near South Reindeer Road.

Two people were shot in connection to the incident that began to unfold around 9pm. One was shot in the thigh and the other was shot in the hip. Both were taken to a hospital but their conditions are unknown.

When police arrived, Brown was armed and gunfire between him and the officers was exchanged. Neither of the gunshot victims were officers.

Brown has been charged with four counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, four counts of assault and battery of high and aggravated nature, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and more.

Brown is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
