Public Meetings To Be Held For Comments On Flood Risk Management Study

The purpose of the study is to address flood and life safety risks to communities and transportation routes.

Several meetings are set to be held regarding the Waccamaw River Flood Risk Management Study.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District and Horry County are inviting the public to comment.

The purpose of the study is to address flood and life safety risks to communities and transportation routes.

The areas of focus include, Bucksport, Socastee, the City of Conway, Red Bluff and Longs.

The meeting aims to provide the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the findings of the study and possible plan.

The first meeting will be held on September 17 from 5-7pm at the James Frazier Community Center.

Two additional meetings will be held on September 18. One from 11am-1pm at the North Strand Recreation Center and the other from 5-7pm at the Horry County Government and Justice Center.
