Two teachers and two other 14-year-old students died as a result of the incident.

A shooting took place at a Georgia high school that left several people dead.

The incident took place Wednesday at Apalachee High School in Winder. The report of an active shooter came in around 10:20am.

14-year-old Colt Gray armed with an AR-platform weapon, reportedly fired several shots resulting in the death of two teachers and two other 14-year-old students. Nine others were injured and hospitalized, those victims are expected to recover.

One of the school resource officers was able to confront the shooter, who surrendered and was taken into custody. It is unclear if the gunman knew or specifically targeted his victims.

Gray was previously questioned by authorities last year regarding tips about online threats against the school. However, he denied responsibility and there was no probable cause for arrest at that time.

Further details remain limited as officials are working to learn more.
