The project is expected to realign North Oak Street at 7th Avenue with Highway 501.
Currently, when drivers use Highway 501 to drive into downtown Myrtle Beach and travel towards the ocean, they have take Main Street to get to Kings Highway. It is reportedly confusing for visitors and tourists.
