Israeli Forces Rescue Eighth Hostage Held Captive In Gaza
The rescue served as a stern reminder that dozens of hostages are still in captivity.
Israel announced a hostage that was held underground for over 300 days in Gaza has been rescued.
52-year-old Al-Qaid Alkadi was the eighth hostage to be rescued by Israeli forces since around 350 were kidnapped during the October 7 attack. The attack ignited the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Alkadi was found in a southern Gaza tunnel where hostages were suspected to be alongside militants and explosives.
The rescue brought a moment of relief to Israelis after 10 months of war. However, it also served as a stern reminder that dozens of hostages are still in captivity.
International mediators are still attempting to broker a ceasefire in which they would be released.
It is believed that there are still over 100 hostages being held captive.
