Water Levels Begin To Slowly Drop After Storm Debby Impact

The Waccamaw River portion in Conway remains in moderate flood stage.

Water levels are improving after Tropical Storm Debby caused several rivers to rise.

The Great and Little Pee Dee rivers are slowly falling along with the Lumber River, Lynches River and the Intracoastal Waterway.

However, the exception is the Waccamaw River portion in Conway, which remains in moderate flood stage. This gauge is expected to stay in the moderate flood stage until late Wednesday. By then the river is forecasted to fall into a minor flood stage before dropping below flood stage levels by next Monday.

While the river remains in flood stages, some area swamplands and roadways may still be experiencing flooding. If you come across water over a roadway, do not attempt to cross, turn around and find a new route.
