One person was killed and three others were transported to a medical center with injuries. Two of the victims were admitted and one was treated and released. All other individuals have been accounted for.

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy has declared an emergency for the city, while Borough Mayor Rodney Dial and city Mayor Dave Kiffer issued a separate emergency declaration.

Crews are working to restore power to the affected area and are currently assessing damage.
