Shooting Leads To Crash Leaving One Man Dead And Two Minors Injured

Suspects began shooting at the ATV striking the 13-year-old victim and causing the driver to lose control leading to the crash.

An incident involving an ATV crash as well as a shots fired is being investigated by police in Laurinburg.

Officers responded to the area of Deluca and Berry Streets around 8pm on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officials found a 14-year-old minor lying next to the road, it is unclear if he was shot or not.

A second male was located and identified as 18-year-old Zahquan Stewart. He was found dead in the bushes next to a crashed ATV, which was stuck in a tree.

Officers also learned of a third male identified as a 13-year-old juvenile. He was transported to a hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound.

An investigation revealed the three males were riding the ATV together and passed by two other males. The pair reportedly began shooting at the ATV striking the 13-year-old victim and causing the driver to lose control leading to the crash.

Both the 13-year-old and 14-year-old are in critical condition.
