Bomb Threat Against A School Was Made As A “Prank”
19-year-old Trenton Brown pled guilty to calling both the school and the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
We now have an update on the Louisiana man sentenced in light of a bomb threat made against Carolina Forest High School.
The threats were made between April 23-24. 19-year-old Trenton Brown pled guilty to calling both the school and the Myrtle Beach Police Department. He reported a “destructive device” to make the threats.
It was said the threats were made as a prank against someone he played video games with online who was a student of the school. Though just a prank, the threats interrupted the school’s operations, prompted evacuations and caused panic in the community.
After the threats were made investigators linked the number to Brown who was extradited to South Carolina. A judge has now sentenced the suspect to 18-months probations after serving 94 days in jail since his arrest. He was not given credit for time previously served.
