Perdue Foods Recalls 167,000 Pounds Of Chicken

The company determined the material to be a very thin strand of metal wire that was used in the manufacturing process.

Around 167,000 pounds of Perdue Foods chicken has been recalled.

The recall covers the company’s frozen chicken nuggets and tenders including ‘Perdue Breaded Chicken Tenders,’ ‘Butcher Box Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets,’ and ‘Perdue Simply Smart Organics Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets.’

It was said the products may contain foreign material after receiving and unspecified number of customer complaints. The company determined the material to be a very thin strand of metal wire that was used in the manufacturing process.

The material was reportedly “identified in a limited number of consumer packages.” However, Perdue decided to place the recall out of an abundance of caution.

Consumers are urged to throw the products out or return them to place of purchase.
