Human Remains Identified As Man Missing Since 2015

The victim was identified as Daniel Riggs of Mount Pleasant.

Human remains that were found in Georgetown County earlier this month have been identified.

The body was discovered in a submerged vehicle on August 5 near Browns Ferry Landing.

The victim was identified as Daniel Riggs of Mount Pleasant. He was reported missing in 2015.

A dive team out of columbia was searching for answers in Riggs’ disappearance. They used data from his phone where it last pinged which led them to the location where they found his vehicle. His remains were found inside.

Riggs’ body is now set to be examined by a forensic anthropologist and a forensic odontologist. The cause and manner of death are still unknown.
