Drexel went missing in Myrtle Beach in 2009 and Raymond Moody was convicted for her murder in 2022.
Angel Vause has now admitted to lying to federal agents regarding details of the events that led up to Drexel’s killing. She was set to enter a formal guilty plea. However, she was given 10 days to consider if she will enter the plea or not.
If Vause agrees to plead guilty to two counts of lying to the FBI, each count carries a maximum penalty of five years. However, it could be eight years as this case involves sexual assault of a minor. That means she could face up to 16-years.
A judge ruled Vause would need more days to decide. It’s unclear if Vause will take the plea deal or not. If she doesn’t, a trial could take place in the fall.
