U.S. Sends Guided Missile Submarine To The Middle East
The move comes after Iran's Revolutionary Guards began military drills on Friday close to the border with Iraq.
The United States has ordered the deployment of a guided missile submarine to the Middle East.
The move comes amid growing tensions and fears that Iran will retaliate against Israel over the murder of a top Hamas official.
The move also comes after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards began military drills on Friday close to the border with Iraq.
The Pentagon confirmed the sub’s deployment after U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke to his Israeli counterpart Sunday. He reiterated the United States’ commitment to take every step to defend Israel.
Israel has neither confirmed nor denied responsibility for the strike that resulted in the Hamas leader’s death. However, Iran and the militant group placed blame and vowed to retaliate possibly leading to a region wide war in the Middle East.
