Ford Places Recall On Vehicles Due To Possible Engine Issue
The parts needed to fix the issue will not be available until the first quarter of next year.
Ford has placed a recall on certain Ecosport and Focus vehicles.
The recall covers vehicles with model years from 2016-2022. They also have a 1.0L engine.
The recall was placed due to the oil-drive belt tensioner arm’s potential to break or separate. If that happens, the vehicle could lose power all together or power braking assistance.
The parts needed to fix the issue will not be available until the first quarter of next year.
In the meantime, if the engine in your vehicle fails due to a damaged oil pump belt or oil pump belt tensioner, Ford will replace the engine assembly as an interim repair before the parts become available for the final repair.
