Department Of Education To Release FAFSA Forms By December

Families with students heading to college need to be ready to fill out the forms as early as possible.

The Department of Education announced that the 2025-26 free FAFSA forms will be available to all families by December.

The DOE will be having a soft launch of FAFSA on October 1 to allow for testing and error correction. They will then begin allowing more and more users, until the full launch that’s set for December 1.

The new date is later than it has been before. However, it comes as the FAFSA was significantly delayed until December 28 last year after facing several issues that continued for months.
