Georgetown Native Wins Bronze at Paris Olympics

Melissa Jefferson made her mark in the Olympics!

A Georgetown native and former CCU student-athlete made her mark in the Olympics on Saturday.

Melissa Jefferson took third place in the women’s 100-meter dash final, winning the bronze medal. She qualified for the Olympics at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials back in June. During her Olympic debut, she turned in the seventh-fastest time at 10.96 out of eight heats, advancing to the semi-final by finishing second in heat three.
