Federal Judge Permanently Blocks Part Of Florida’s “Stop Woke Act”

A federal judge has permanently blocked part of Florida’s “Stop Woke Act.”
The act was one of multiple bills Gov. Ron DeSantis signed in 2022. It acted as part of DeSantis’ battle against “woke ideology.”
It was intended to prevent teachings or mandatory workplace activities that suggest a person is privileged or oppressed based on their race, color, sex or national origin.
A judge has now issued a two-page order granting permanent injunction against the law’s workplace training provisions.
The order claims the act “violates free speech rights under the first and fourteenth amendments to the U.S. constitution.”
