Coco Gauff Will Be Youngest American Flag Bearer At The Olympics

The athlete will be competing for her first time after narrowly missing out three years ago.

Team USA is set to be the penultimate team down the Seine river as the U.S. will host the next summer Olympics in 2028.

Tennis star Coco Gauff will join NBA legend LeBron James in carrying the flag for Team USA.

At just 20-years-old, Gauff will be the youngest American flag bearer at the Olympics.

The athlete will also be competing for her first time after narrowly missing out three years ago. She was originally going to play in the Tokyo games. However, she had to pull out after being diagnosed with COVID-19 shortly before her departure for Japan.

Gauff will be seeded No. 2 in the Paris singles, in line with her ranking, and No. 1 in the women’s doubles, where she will line up with Jessica Pegula. She may also enter the mixed doubles contest.
