The Lake Paul Wallace Dam in Bennettsville has breached again.
It was said the dam burst at the end of Beauty Spot Road. The incident caused part of the roadway to wash out.
SCDHEC has been monitoring the dam since it first breached in May. The agency also recently conducted an inspection of the structure.
Engineers noticed an issue a few weeks ago in which some seepage was occurring under the road. However, quick action was taken by lowering the level to take pressure off of the dam.
Engineers now plan to assess this second breach to find out what happened.
The water was rushing under the bridge, however, unlike the last breach situation, no mandatory evacuations were issued.
Beauty Spot Road will remain closed at this time.
