Two People Charged After Woman Dies Following Dog Attack
The dog's owners Justin Conroy and Ashley Maclean were both arrested and charged with owning a dangerous animal.
We have an update on a story regarding a fatal dog attack.
On July 10, 71-year-old Karen Nelson was riding a bike along Brigadoone Lane when a dog broke free from its leash and attacked her. She was knocked off the bike and bit several times including on her neck.
Nelson did not survive from the injuries she sustained.
The dog’s owners Justin Conroy and Ashley Maclean were both arrested and charged with owning a dangerous animal. Warrants say they did or should have known their dog had a tendency to attack unprovoked and was capable of causing bodily harm to others. Both have been granted a $15,000 bond.
The dog was euthanized following the incident.
Neither Conroy or Maclean spoke during their bond hearing but both appeared emotional. They are each due in general sessions court on October 2.
