The company will also lay off its U.S. based employees after the Department of Commerce announced a ban on the firm selling its products in the U.S..

Officials claimed the Russian government has access to Kaspersky’s popular antivirus software which they used to hack or collect data from Americans. The company has denied those claims.
The shutdown of their U.S. operations is set to start on Saturday. This marks the end of nearly two decades of the company operating in the country.
Kaspersky lab said they carefully examined and evaluated the impact of the U.S. legal requirements which led to the difficult decision as business opportunities in the country are no longer viable.
