Conway City Council Approves First Readings Of Two Annexation Plans
The plan to annex around 450-acres involves developers using the land to build over 1,200 homes.
The Conway City Council approved the first reading of an annexation plan during Monday’s meeting.
The plan to annex around 450-acres involves developers using the land to build over 1,200 homes.
The property for the proposed project is near Juniper Bay Road and Highway 378.
The idea has been in development since last year as those involved have worked with the city on an agreement that reduced the number of homes by 500.
The development plans include residential homes, a city park and stormwater ponds. It must now be reviewed by Conway’s Planning Commission before it gets to second and third readings.
In addition, council members also approved the first reading for annexations plans along John Doctor Road near Highway 905.
The 127-acre lot has been requested for annexation to allow for an undisclosed amount of homes.
However, in this case, there are concerns over the property being close to a shooting range and what that could mean for residents living close by.
