Argentina Wins This Year’s Copa América

Argentina was forced to complete their Copa América run without their best player after Lionel Messi who suffered a right ankle injury in the first half.

Argentina won their 16th Copa América Championship Sunday night. The team defeated Colombia 1-0 in the final game to claim the title.

Argentina won Copa América in 2021 as well as the Qatar World Cup in 2022. That makes this win the team’s third major International crown they’ve earned across the span of three years.

The match also started off rocky after being delayed over an hour due to unruly fans without tickets breaching security gates two hours before the game.

However, the setbacks did not stop Argentina from breaking Colombia’s 28-match winning streak and claiming their second straight Copa América title.
