Surfside Beach Pier Committee Discusses New Projects For The Structure

The committee is looking to bring kiosks, volleyball courts and even a visitor center.

At a town council meeting held Tuesday night, the Surfside Beach Pier Committee discussed new projects surrounding the structure.

The pier officially opened earlier this year after eight years in the making.

The committee is looking to bring kiosks, volleyball courts and even a visitor center. The amenities would be for people walking on and under the new improved structure.

The committee laid out exactly what these plans and projects may look like and how far out into the future they could be.

Many of the projects were motioned to be approved. However, the council is asking the community for input. Residents are encouraged to submit documents and planning proposals for any ideas for what is yet to come.
