President Biden To Host NATO Summit In Washington

Ukraine's long-term path to become a member of NATO will be a hot topic of discussion.

President Biden will host leaders of the member nations in Washington this week for the NATO Summit.

The meeting celebrates NATO’s 75th anniversary in the city where the original treaty was signed.

Partner nations from the EU, Ukraine, Japan, S. Korea, Australia and New Zealand will also be in attendance.

Ukraine’s long-term path to become a member of NATO will be a hot topic of discussion, along with providing the country additional immediate air defense, training, equipment and logistics.

During the summit, there will also likely be a strong statement from NATO condemning China’s support for Russia’s defense industrial base.

The meeting kicks off Tuesday with an anniversary event at the auditorium where the treaty was signed in 1949.
