Several Lightning Strikes Were Reported Across The Grand Strand

Lightning possibly struck a home on 33rd Avenue North in Cherry Grove which resulted in an attic fire.

Several lightning strikes were reported amid storms across the Grand Strand Thursday.

Just after 4:30pm, Horry County Fire Rescue crews responded to Pinehurst Circle in Little River for a multi-unit residential structure fire that appeared to be caused by a lightning strike.

North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue also responded to several incidents related to the weather.

Lightning possibly struck a home on 33rd Avenue North in Cherry Grove which resulted in an attic fire.

Another home was hit by lightning on 7th Avenue South and a tree outside a home was struck by lightning along 13th Avenue South. That strike took down a service line.

No injuries were reported during any of the incidents and fire crews were able to contain and put out each of the fires.
