War In Gaza Could Go On Until The End Of The Year
Israel's national security advisor said this year has been "defined as a year of combat" by the country's war cabinet.
The war in Gaza could last through the end of the year.
Israel’s national security advisor said this year has been “defined as a year of combat” by the country’s war cabinet. He added, “We are now in the fifth month of 2024, which means we expect another seven months of fighting to deepen our achievements and achieve our goal of destroying the military and governmental capabilities of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.”
The warning came as Israeli tanks were spotted in Rafah for the first time since the ground offensive began earlier this month.
The Israeli government previously hinted that entering Rafah would be the final stage of its war against hamas, but the comments suggests that may not be the case anymore.
Since Hamas attacked israel on October 7th killing around 1,200 people and taking nearly 250 hostages, over 36,000 people have died in Gaza where Israel struck back.
