Small Single-Engine Plane Makes Emergency Landing On Highway 501

It was said the pilot and a mechanic were on board conducting a maintenance flight of a training aircraft.

A small single-engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon in Horry County.

The aircraft landed along a busy section of Highway 501 near Dodge Lane.

Around noon, the pilot reported an engine problem to the FAA. Shortly after, Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the scene where the plane safely landed and was later towed away by a pick-up truck.

It was said the pilot and a mechanic were on board conducting a maintenance flight of a training aircraft.

No one was injured during this incident.
