Jury In Trump’s Hush Money Trial Begins Deliberations
Donald Trump is accused of falsifying business records to cover up payments made to Stormy Daniels over their alleged affair.
Closing arguments were delivered Tuesday in Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial.
The defense delivered their remarks first in attempt to discredit Michael Cohen. Trump’s attorneys told the jury that the prosecution’s case merely relied on Cohen’s testimony and referred to him as the “MVP of liars” who is out to get Trump.
Defense attorney todd blanche accused Cohen of lying directly to the jury, on top of the lies he was convicted of telling. Also saying that prosecutors offered no evidence connecting Trump to the payment to Stormy Daniels outside of Cohen’s testimony.
Prosecutors told jurors that they’ve seen a “mountain of evidence” to prove Trump falsified business records to cover up the payments made in attempt to keep Daniels quiet about an alleged affair during the 2016 presidential election. Prosecutors also reviewed some documents with the jurors in attempt to display Cohen’s credibility.
The judge went over instructions with the jury and they began deliberations Wednesday.
